Titles are not visible in movies and TV shows on Apple TV app after macOS Tahoe update

Sir, I honestly didn't know about the changes, which is why they were such a huge shock. I will wait to update my iPad until a workaround or subsequent update is issued to address the matter. I have been a loyal Mac user for nearly two decades now. :-)

I can tell you that on iPadOS 26 it only lists the run time underneath the Poster Art image. Like this but look at these Jurassic Movies, two look the same with the first one being 2015 and the title is in French so I’ve no idea what it’s called, plays in English though. I’d have to look in my other iPad on iPadOS 18.6 to figure it out. I’m too blind to read it!

So if you’re not part of the Beta program like most are not then you don’t know about how terrible the changes are until you install a terrible new version. It’s obvious that the beta testers have horrible taste if they let this get through. Makes uploaded videos totally useless on iPhone have to open every single video to find the one you want.

The testers obviously don’t test every scenario others might use their devices for. Oddly the movies are still in alphabetical order (with no titles). I left one pad on iPadOS 18.6. I keep needing to use it for various tasks. Other than that I do like OS 26.

You don’t have to update any software. Be sure to turn off automatic updates if you don’t want them installed without your approval.

Where was it mentioned in any of the release notes that they'd (apparently intentionally) broken a basic feature that's been working the same way since they added video to iTunes? I certainly don't remember seeing it mentioned in the Ars Technica or MacRumours reviews.

It's going to be a real pain restoring from my last Sonoma backup and then rolling forwards the files I changed since installing Tahoe.

I did this. It made things look better on iPad, iPhone and Mac, but it messed up the view on the Apple 4k, as it still has landscape as the size for art. So you can either have it looking good on your portable devices or your Apple TV, but not both.

No titles? Really? It's appallingly apparent to me none of the developers working on the Apple TV app actually ever used this product! That's why it's riddled with such idiotic bugs. Shame on OS 26 and Apple QC.

When I add a show to tv i get the blank thumbnail so after right clicking, get info and add title etc then leave page and come back the artwork is there but no title or run time under artwork, not at all happy

Change for the sake of change. There is so little the apple can innovate and leaving the OS looking the same, no matter how functional and useful it was, makes it look like they haven't done anything. So BIG CHANGES, move the search bar to the bottom after a decade of being used to it at the top, get rid of usefull visual information and make everything run slower. Now that I only have the artwork to see what movies I have, the art work fails to load in a timely manner so not only do I not have the movie title under the artwork to know what movie it is, half the time I don't even have the artwork so have to click on a plain gray icon to find out what it is. BRILLIANT! If I wanted change for the sake of change I would have gone android and windows

After updating to macOS Tahoe, I ran into a strange issue in the Apple TV app where none of the movie or TV show titles are showing anymore—just the artwork with no names underneath, which makes browsing really frustrating. Everything worked fine before the update, so it definitely feels like something broke along the way rather than a setting I changed myself. I’ve tried restarting the app and even rebooting my Mac, but nothing seems to bring the titles back. If there’s a hidden setting or a quick fix for this, I’d really appreciate the help because right now it’s like guessing what I’m about to watch...

It should have never changed, it was fine the way it was.

And sometimes this artwork doesn’t load so you’re left with nothing.

Once I do this on my Mac and sync to my iPad, will the edited thumbnails appear on the iPad also?

In the iOS app there doesn’t even seem to be an option to change the view or to see info for that matter. Everything is just stuck with no titles.
