Hi, I have just updated to iOS 26 and since then my phone number won’t register with iMessage. Tried everything from restart , to togging to logging into Apple account and nothing. Thank you for your help !

I updated my iPhone 16 Pro last week and all was good. I then updated my wife's iPhone SE and Message app broke as described above. Phone number refuses to activate and have had the spinning icon going for over 5 days now.
None of the suggestions in the article referenced by Chris helped. Reached out to Apple Support but have yet to get a reply. Very disappointing.
Tried everything, including contacting the support. No one replied, yet. And the problem is still there.
It’s infuriating. I am hoping Apple issues and update for something!
