In the two days since I’ve installed iOS 26, I’ve awoken (late) in the morning to see that my phone had my alarm on the screen, but no sound playing. This has been a known issue in the past due to attention aware features, but I have those turned off already. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max

Third update for me on this thread; I raised the volume bar one notch, and now the alarm plays. So essentially the update lowered the volume bars a notch. All the way down volume used to still give me a low-volume song being played on alarms, but now it makes it all the way silent. Up two notches now gives me the same volume that I used to get with it turned all the way down. Doesn’t make much sense to me as to why anyone would want “silent” as an option, unless you’re hoping that the light from your phone screen wakes you up or something but that seems ridiculous.

Just fix it. It's simple. You don't have to complicate it. Give the alarm/clock it's own volume setting that can be handled right in the app and have no other setting or volume control affect it. That way when I look at my phone at night, I can clearly see that the alarm is set and the volume is set where I know it will work.
Either buy a third party alarm app that will usually utilise media volume, or ask for your idea here https://apple.com/feedback
IOS 26.1 This problem of alarm sounds not audibly heard if at all has been resolved with Face ID “Attention Aware Features”. Alarms now play at full volume regardless of the setting on or off.
Exactly @cgilson33! I have the same issue and the scary thing is this looks like a new way it has been designed.
Now with one click to the side button that would snooze the alarm before, it now completely silences the alarm and NEVER gives you another alarm after a snooze period because it is prompting you on the screen to see if you want to snooze it or stop the alarm. This is diabolical and is probably making thousands of people late for work, school, meetings, everything. We have collectively learned that one side button push snoozes the alarm, it doesn't stop the alarm never to return. Fix this Apple!
On iOS 26.0.1 iPhone 16 pro max but affects all iPhones, there is a bug related to Face ID and the setting “Attention Aware Features” and the volume of alarms. If enabled while looking at the phone the volume of alarms in the clock are low, half volume or less.
Turning off “Attention Aware Features” fixes the issue.

You may have already checked this in your trouble shooting, but check
Settings > Apps > Clock > Look at your Notifications Setting.
If "Allow Notifications" is Turned ON; Is it set to Immediate Delivery or Scheduled Summary?
For your Clock Alarm to Sound on the TIME you want it to make sure it is set to Immediate Delivery and your Alarm is set to the volume you like to wake up too.
My iPhone is 17PM, but should be same settings for iPhone 14PM on IOS26.
i missed my yoga class and had to pay for my missed class because my alarm didn’t go off this weekend (after I did the update). If you look at the screen it looks like my alarm is going off but there’s no sound or vibration. I restarted my phone thinking it would fix it. The volume for my alarm is on and all the settings look correct, but once again, it did not go off Monday morning or this morning. This is really frustrating, I am going to try deleting my alarm and setting up a new one. Hope this works. I have an iPhone 17e and synched to my Apple watch

I've been using my iPhone as my alarm for more than a decade and have not had any issues. However, if you're very concerned, I suggest you get a wind-up alarm clock as a backup.
I've noticed that you can continue the Snooze if you click the side button twice now, not just once. If you click twice it will choose snooze and keep the snooze timer going, and alarm again.
Similar here. I use the sleep schedule alarm and the side buttons to snooze (usually the on/off but they used to be the same) I do get the initial alarm, but not the snooze. Now the button appears to mute the alarm but the image on the screen appears to look like the alarm is still going. No additional snooze alarms ever sound. I have to open the clock app for it to register that I am awake.
This has been happening to me too. I was late for work because it turned the alarm off…
also, what’s up with the volume? Before it would work with the ringer level and now it’s completely doing its own thing, it’s either too low now or blaring. I got such a fright this morning.
I thought I was going crazy that I keep missing my alarm every morning. I’ve been late this entire week and I am so annoyed that they removed this feature. I also press the side buttons and this makes the phone alarm for me useless now. Gonna get an oldschool clock to fix this. Thanks for nothing apple
This just happened to me on my Air on OS26. I woke up late this morning to the alarm going off on my phone but no sound playing.
This is super frustrating as in Silent Mode it says alarms will play, and it did flawlessly in OS18 with no issues.
I’m having the same issue, I’m a heavy sleeper and had been having problems with my alarm until I discovered the attention feature, everything has been fine until the ios 26 update. Now my alarm is either silent or really quiet and no amount of messing with the buttons and volume settings is fixing it. My partner has also got this problem and is taking to pulling all nighters when he has to get up for work due to the anxiety of sleeping in.
Didn’t update to the latest version yet, but turned off Attention Aware features in face id and password settings and it seems to work now. I still always check if I have silent mode off but it seems fixed now.
