After an update, particularly a major release like iOS 26, its common for your iPhone to drain more battery temporary as it needs to index all your data and files for search and other tasks such as updating apps and downloading new assets. Give it a few days to fully complete its post-update processes and the battery drain should go back to normal levels.
Regarding your lag, try a Forced Restart. This is a good thing to do after every iOS update to ensure things run smoothly after updating.
