Deleted Apple ID still tied to iPhone — need to restore within 30 days

Hi everyone,

I need help restoring a deleted Apple ID.

  • iPhone model: iPhone 12 Pro
  • Deletion request made: September 7, 10:32 AM
  • The iPhone is still signed into that Apple ID and has Find My iPhone / Activation Lock enabled.
  • When I try to sign in at appleid.apple.com, it says the Apple ID is “not valid.”
  • I already received an access code for account recovery during request for deletion, but I’m unsure how to use it because the website says the account is invalid.

Question:

Has anyone restored a deleted Apple ID in this “pending deletion” state directly on the iPhone or through Apple Support? What’s the safest way to restore it so I can remove Activation Lock and make the iPhone fully functional again?

Thanks in advance!

iPhone 13, iOS 26

You could try to get the account working again, as outlined in: How to delete your Apple Account - Apple Support

"What happens if I change my mind after I have requested that my account be deleted?

While your request is being processed, you can contact Apple Support [call them at a telephone number for your country --> Contact Apple Support - Apple Support ] with the unique alphanumeric access code you received, and we’ll help you cancel your request. After your account is deleted, Apple can't cancel the request, reopen your account, or restore your data."

Alternatively, Apple can reset a device if a person can provide sufficient evidence of valid ownership (usually the original receipt from Apple or an authorized retailer —> Keep your receipt after you buy an Apple device - Apple Support ). Try this online here --> https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support Yes, apparently this does work in this situation too: How to remove previously deleted apple id… - Apple Community

I've not deleted an account and don't know if they flag it immediately then get around to actually deleting it later. Go ahead and give the code a try.
