Basically what it says in the title...
I have a ton of rules set up in Mail to move emails to specific mailboxes when they arrive in the Inbox. Updating to Tahoe has stopped Mail from applying the rules automatically.
UPDATE:
It IS actually applying the rules, but the behaviour of 'Move Message' is what has changed, in this case with Gmail accounts. 'Move Message' in a rule used to add the label of the folder to the message, and then move the message to 'All Mail'. Now it just labels it and leaves it in the Inbox.
Had same annoying issue after updating to Tahoe when rules only worked when called manually. I was able to solve issue by by changing from "Delete Message" to "Move Message" to Trash.

However, if you click "Apply Rules" (Message > Apply Rules ⌥⌘L) the message(s) are removed from Inbox. Hopefully this will get sorted out in an update.
I have been duplicating the rules and then selecting 'Apply Rule' to apply them. Frustrating.
Such a weird bug. It mentioned something about rebuilding or indexing my mail during the upgrade, and I'm unsure if that's related to the issue. Additionally, I'm unsure how to revert.
I agree but the only way to move them in the right mail folder is to manually do /message/apply rules. what is the point of having rules if these don't apply automatically?

I see and understand your answer, BUT all my rules for adding color backgrounds to the messages are not working.
Even selecting "Apply Rules" several times never gets the coloring and leaves them as white.

This is WAY beyond frustrating. Mail is currently unusable. Clicking "Apply Rules' moves the message to the mailbox designated in the rule, but then, in addition to appearing in the mailbox it should have been moved to, the message reappears in the general mailbox. Mail has created a vicious circle where multiple copies of the message keep getting loaded.
This needs fixed yesterday or I'm going to have to find a different mail application ASAP.
This is kinda frustrating.
Don't recommend upgrade to latest macos until they fix ridiculous and weird stuff.
