iPhone 14 Pro boot loop after iOS 26 update

Updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 26 resulted in a boot loop where the Apple logo came up but didn’t get to the welcome screen. I tried the update several times on my MacBook Pro and once it succeeded and I was able to use it for a while. It failed again with the same boot loop and no matter how many times I tried to update it again did it start normally. I ended up having to restore it to iOS 18.6.2 and even that had an issue of a reboot but there was no loop!

Unfortunately that now requires a huge iCloud restore. Very frustrating. I hope that this isn’t just my iPhone and it gets resolved in the next update. Otherwise I’ll be stuck on this version without any way to downgrade like it I did this time!

Mine did the same thing. iPhone 14 Pro Max. It updated itself to iOS 26, stayed in a boot loop. I had to downgrade to iOS 18, and then restore my backup. Today, it updated again to iOS 26, despite me not having auto updates on, and now I can’t even install iOS 18 because apple no longer signs it. So I now have nothing on my phone because I can not restore my iCloud backup without a continual boot loop.
