First try a forced restart, if that doesn't work reinstall the app. If that doesn't work contact the app developer for help with their software.

Try a forced restart.

• Press and quickly release the volume up button

• Press and quickly release the volume down button

• Press and hold the side button.

• When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Thanks. That was the first thing I did but it didn’t solve the problem. It took me another 30 minutes till I found the culprit. It was the VPN, both Cyberghost and Avira, blocking everything. Now we know ;-)

Glad you figured it out. Yes, VPNs can cause all sorts of issues and really isn't needed on an iPhone. Not to mention VPNs can actually make your phone less secure as the owner of the VPN can see everything your doing.
