Transferring phone number from lost iPhone 8 to new iPhone 16e

I lost my iPhone 8 and purchased a 16e to replace it. It’s all set up but I need to transfer the phone number from my old phone to the new one. I don’t want to change the number I’ve had for so long. How do I do that?
