macOS 26 Tahoe update not showing up on my M1 MacBook Pro
Hello everyone,
It’s been almost a week since the release of macOS 26 Tahoe, but I still don’t see it in Software Update on my MacBook Pro (M1 Pro).
- The Software Update window just shows “Checking for Updates…” with the spinner.
- When I try to update via Terminal, I get: “No new software available.”
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
- Downloaded the Tahoe installer using:
softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 26.0
- The installation process gets stuck at 52 minutes.
- Restarted the 'softwareupdated' process → No luck.
- Booted into Safe Mode and ran Software Update → No luck.
- Reinstalled Sequoia via Recovery, then tried Software Update again → Still no luck.
At this point, it just keeps checking for updates and never proceeds.
Is anyone else facing this issue on an M1 Pro Mac? Any workarounds?
