Incoming calls not working on iPad after iPadOS 26 update

Incoming calls not working on IPad. Prior to iOS 26 incoming calls would ring on my wifi-only iPad. Upgrade to iOS 26 caused that to stop working. I tried every suggestion I found online, to no avail. Eventually I tried making an outgoing call from the new phone app. That didn’t work. I tried again, and the outgoing call worked. Now both outgoing AND incoming calls are working on my iPad!
