Please try a Forced Restart. I found another thread someone posted not getting notifications after the iOS 26 update, and it worked, but not immediately they said. Notifications not working in iOS 26 - Apple Community

  • Press and quickly release the Volume Up Button
  • Press and quickly release the Volume Down Button
  • Press and hold the Side Button until you see the Apple Logo (Up to 30 seconds, hold past the Power Off slider)

No fix at all. Me and other users from our forum site tried everything. DFU, reset all settings, many ways of settings management - nothing works. It occurs even on iPhone after DFU restore with only WhatsApp installed. It's a bug in iOS. All you can do is write to Apple via Apple Feedback with hope that they will see it and fix in near update.

FIXED!

OK, your latest post got me to looking again--My notifications on 15 Pro Max were still not working after IOS 26 original install and I did the first post on this back in early October. So I went through the Notifications settings after latest update again and did the following:

--Prioritize Notifications ON

--Summarize Notifications OFF

--Siri Announce Notifications ON

--Went app by app and changed the ones I wanted to see as they occurred to "IMMEDIATE DELIVERY"

--My Ring and MYQ (garage doors) are now working as advertised with only a few seconds delay

Since you can only choose either "Immediate Delivery" or "Scheduled Delivery" for each app, I am inferring that unless you enable Immediate Delivery, they won't appear as needed. This is especially important with home security apps like Ring and MYQ.

Bottom Line: Works as needed, didn't work just before I made these latest changes.

[SOLVED]

Hi everyone, I ran into the exact same issue after updating to iOS 26, and none of the methods mentioned above worked for me.

But! One thing did help in certain apps: I deleted the apps and reinstalled them from the App Store, and after that iOS asked for notification permissions again. In the apps I removed and reinstalled, notifications started coming through. The app versions also changed, even though the App Store showed that I already had the latest version! In some apps, notifications came back only after some time. I don’t know if this solution works for everyone, but I wanted to share what helped me. For the record, I had to reinstall every app on my phone.

You need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.

iPhone 14 Pro Max, IOS 26.1, same issue with no notifications, badge icons.

eM Client is one App I use for mail - no longer getting notification badges unless the App is actually running. This has been since IOS 26.

I'm sure this is also happening on other Apps to. I have contacted the separate support companies for the Apps and they are clueless, saying everything settings wise for push notifications is correctly set, iPhone hard reset countless times and still the same problem.

This can't go on like this as presently we are totally oblivious to getting notified of potentially important events.

Another case of broken software where they put in unwanted features nobody really wanted and screw up the basic functionality - again. This is getting just like Microsoft.

And for anyone else, I have tried all the available advice, but it seems like a bug:

"Yes, numerous users are reporting issues with missing badge notifications and push email in iOS 26.1, suggesting it is a widespread bug rather than an isolated settings problem. Many have found that standard troubleshooting steps only provide temporary relief, if any."

I have tried:

Force Restart - Useless

Toggle Settings (toggle Allow Notifications off and on again) - No Difference

Background App Refresh - No Difference

Disable Focus Modes - Not Enabled

Re-add Email Account - No Difference (done multiple times)

Delete and Reinstall Apps - No Difference (done multiple times)

Use a Third-Party Email Client - Already Using

Check "Low Data Mode - Not Applicable

As this is also happening on iPad with IOS 26.1, it must be Apple's Faulty Software.

I don’t think it’s watch based, I have the issue with the new Air, know of another Air user, same watch, same transfer of data process between old and new phone, their notifications are all fine, mine not, I also unpaired and paired multiple times with watch to see no difference.

IMO it’s either a bug affecting some users or, some phones affected or, some data transfers have not worked correctly causing a glitch.

ill Come back to update if I find out a fix/cause.

Zach--Thanks for your reply. No I don't. The MYQ (Chamberlain garage openers) are doing their thing--I added email to their push notification options, and it works. Everything worked great until the update to 26. I also checked on Ring, same issue.

I reloaded the MYQ app as well and reset all the push notification settings.

Zachyy:

Thank you again for posting on this. Looked at the thread and ran the reset, no change at this point, but i will wait 24 and see what comes up. Went to my wife's SE running IOS X.alongtimeago and notifications are there, so its not the end deices or wifi at fault.

Love 26--makes me feel good about my iPhone again--great job Apple!

Given that these security related devices and notices have intertwined their way onto our phones, we catch on immediately when we lose the capability to monitor when we are gone or otherwise need to know what's around. For that reason I'm pretty sure someone will grab this and figure it out. I will watch these threads and see what comes up and repost when i find out more.

Thank you for your help...

So after 24 hours of fooling with this, I really think this is likely a settings issue somewhere--I say that because I upgraded my iPad Air Gen 5 to IOS26 and everything is working normally as far as notifications go. I have worked over the notifications settings for both the iPhone and the app but with no result yet.

Any ideas would be appreciated...

Kais3r—Thanks for sharing your experience. I guessed that I was just missing something in settings, but after I went over it all today, still can’t find it. My notifications are working on iPad running 26, but not phone, so that falls in line with your thinking. I will have patience and see where this goes.
