How can I fix iOS 26 keyboard jumping issue on iPhone and iPad?

Not sure if anyone is still having the same problem

but I changed my keyboard to full rather than split and it stopped jumping

I’m seeing the same issue on iOS/iPadOS 26.0. Whenever I tap the Shift key, the onscreen keyboard jumps up and down and becomes unusable. Restarting the device helps only temporarily. It happens on both my iPhone 14 Plus and iPad 9, so it seems to be a software bug with iOS 26. Hopefully Apple releases a quick update to fix it.

It was a deal breaker for me. I looked online and even did a full reset of my iPad m4 11” wiping everything. Kept happening. In the end I reverted back to iPad os18.x as my iPad is my primary machine. So sad because I really liked the improvements in iOS 26 and had been waiting for the full release to try it.

I expect this kind of significant bug from Microsoft, not Apple. It’s why I dropped Windows for Apple…

Ths is inexcusable performance.

Any errors you see here are caused by the jumping between lauouts.

I use SwiftKey Board and Grammarly and deleting each doesn't solve anything.

Is this an apple plot to force the better keyboards off our devices?

Yeah, happening for me too. I have the 13” M4 iPad Pro and was on the dev build beta iPadOS until release. I submitted it as a bug report with a video and everything, thinking there’s no way they’ll release iPadOS like this. Boy was I proven wrong! If they’re not going to take feedback from the dev beta, I doubt they’ll really look at the forums to fix this shiz… wth

Yes, it’s pretty frustrating. For me, it seems to happen only with the smaller keyboard.
