Iphone17 Pro connection issue with Vodafone Australia

I’ve been trying to set up my Vodafone SIM card/eSIM on the new iPhone 17 Pro, but there’s still no connection (it’s been 2 days now). Vodafone Australia customer service is blaming Apple, saying it’s due to some sort of software glitch.

However, there’s been no official communication from either of them yet, so who should I trust?

and most importantly when is it gonna be fixed?

I had much the same issue. I transferred my eSIM from my iPhone 11pro on Friday afternoon and everything was working well. On Saturday morning I had no mobile connection. Tried all the things like in/out of airplane mode and turning the phone off and on again.

Went to a Vodafone store and they moved my number to a physical sim. They also mentioned about there being a provisioning issue. A couple of hours later my iPhone 17 was back talking to the world.

it does seem to have some issues when it looses mobile coverage. I have to toggle airplane mode to get it to re-connect to the mobile network

I’ve had a bit more time to observe, the iPhone 17 won’t do 4G at all on Vodafone. This causes problems in 5G auto mode when it decides to switch to 4 G because there isn’t much of a call for data and to save power. 5G on works well ish in stronger signal strength areas. When the signal strength gets marginal though it’s unusable. 4G only mode = no connectivity at all.
