Hearing Test with AirPod Pro 3

My new AirPod Pro 3 bought yesterday worked okay with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and has amazing sound quality.

However even on my iOS 18.1 I could not get the hearing test option to appear. I know others have had this issue.

How I solved it was to Forget this device for the AirPod. When I did this a screen popped up asking if I wanted to install iOS 26. When I did this and paired my AirPod Pro 3 again - hey presto the hearing test option worked!

Just thought that this might help some of you.

Why can't I find the Hearing Test on my AirPods Pro 2? I have the latest iOS for my phone and correct 7B19 for my AirPods Pro 2 (model A3048 from Costco). I cannot for the life of me get this hearing feature to appear. When I open the AirPod menu, “take a hearing test” is nowhere to be found. It’s not in my Health app either.
