Many texts did not transfer to new iPhone 17 Pro (Only 2025 Texts and Pre-2025 Attachments Are Showing)

I am still having the same issue. When I picked up my new iPhone 17 Pro Max, I happened to see that pre-2025 messages didn’t appear on the app. If you do a search, such as 2021, the old messages from 2021, will in fact pop up. Surprisingly, if you open one or two or those messages, they will appear on the app. However, once you sync via iCloud again, they’ll disappear. It’s a big pain! For two and a half weeks, I visited the store at least four times, numerous chats with tech support, and at least three phone calls with them and their convos with engineering. They finally said engineering is aware of the issue and they will be providing a fix. I’m not sure if that is the case or they said that to brush me off. Nevertheless, I’m still waiting for the fix.

In the Messages app, on the very bottom there should be a search box. Using 2021 only as an example, type in 2021, and hit “See All.” Text messages with “2021” in the body and text messages sent in 2021, will appear.

Well, haven’t heard anything from Apple, but I think I found a fix. At least it worked for me. Go to Settings, Apps, Messages, and then turn on “Screen Unknown Senders.”

I am having the same issue. What do you mean if you search 2021 you can find old messages. Where are you searching? In the messages app or in the normal search? I havent figured out any old messages doing either.

This!! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been on calls with Apple Support for weeks and they’ve had me factory reset my phone and everything. Tried this last night and it worked for me.

What was “this” that fixed it for you? I still have the same problem.
