Unable to Change Voicemail Greeting on iPhone with iOS 26

I’m on iOS 26 and can’t save a custom voicemail greeting. I’ve tried restarting, updating carrier settings, and resetting network settings. Anyone know how to fix this?

I had the same issue when moving from TMoblile to Verizon. I also upgraded my phone to an iPhone 17 pro with IOS 26. What worked for me was calling the Voicemail system directly from my iPhone 17 (*86 for Verizon). It detected that I had not setup my "new" voicemail box on Verizon. It had me setup a Voicemail password and gave me the option to configure a personalized greeting. I did both. After doing those step, I went into Voicemail - Greeting and it finally showed the checkmark next to "Custom". Most carries have a way to call into the Voicemail platform and configure settings there. Those settings seem to push down to the iPhone.
