Sidecar to iPad "timing out" after using continuity camera Macos26 - BUG FOUND

Hi, I think I found a bug that carried over from the last OS to OS26

My setup is MacBook Pro 16 running OS26, an iPhone 15 pro running ios26 and an iPad Pro from 2023 running os26

I use continuity camera during calls so my cam is from my iPhone. When I end the call. I try and use sidecar, so mirroring my Mac to my iPad and it times out. I have to restart the iPad for it to work again

After that it works.

But then, if I take a call using continuity camera (obviously I need to turn off sidecar for that to work), I am able to use the iPhones camera, but after call ends, try activate sidecar to iPad and same problem happens again. a Time out

This happened on the old OS, and still happening on the new OS. Only solution is an iPad restart. Tried turning off wifi etc, but I dont want to do that as this should just work

Anyone else found this bug or is it unique to me?

Update 2: wireless Sidecar and wired iPhone does NOT work.

So the only way to have Sidecar and Continuity Camera at the same time is to have the iPad connected with the cable.

Thank you, these requirements appear to be very clear, BUT...

I have just tried the following scenario:

1) MacBook Pro M4 Pro running Tahoe

2) iPad (9th generation) used as Sidecar - WITH CABLE

3) iPhone used as Continuity Camera:

a) in Quicktime Player, New Movie Recording

b) in a Zoom call

and IT WORKS.

I suppose that the limiting factor may be that they can't all be wireless?

I will try to test this, maybe later today or tomorrow. I have a similar setup except that my iPad is older and cannot run iPadOS26.

To clarify: the "obviously have to turn sidecar off" is because it does not work for you, or is it supposed to be necessary normally (i.e. is it written somewhere that sidecar and continuity camera cannot be used simultaneously)?

Update 1: I tried it with the three devices wireless and, as predicted, it does not work; selecting the continuity camera Zoom tells me it can't connect to it. But Sidecar (wireless) was not affected, and continues to work normally, before, during and after the attempt.

Next, I will try the other way around: wired iPhone camera and wireless iPad.

I have a similar issue where i am not able to use sidecar at all between my macbook pro and ipad, this is after both were updated to the latest os 26

I have tried connecting both wired and wireless, and tried restarting both devices

I am getting this error, Unable to connect to iPad. The device timed out
