junk mail not showing ins junk folder

When I open Outlook mail and click on junk folder if I hover over junk folder it says 8 pieces of junk but the junk folder says there is no junk that the folder is empty. The junk does show on my iPhone. The problem of the junk not showing on my MacBook just started today.
