Why do folders on MS OneDrive lose Modified By dates?

Does anyone understand the interaction (or, rather, battle) between cloud services like MS SharePoint/OneDrive and MacOS? I have an enterprise-hosted MS OneDrive mounted on my (work) computer (MacBook Pro 2023 running Sequoia 15.6.1) which looks like any other attached drive. However, at random times (I have yet to find any pattern), the "Date Modified" dates on MOST BUT NOT ALL folders on that OneDrive suddenly get reset all to whatever moment in time that happens (see attached sample) - including folders inside folders BUT NO DOCUMENTS! This only affects how those folders appear on my work Mac desktop - if I access the SAME folders on a DIFFERENT Mac (my home MacBook Air), they don't change their appearance, so I don't think that something changed on the MS OneDrive side. This is annoying at best since it makes it much harder finding projects I have been working on recently - they appear in a long list of folders all with the same modification date and time even if I (or anyone else) haven't touched them for a long time. Has anyone else observed this?
