Apple Watch Not Tracking Sleep

Hello there 👋🏾 I have an Apple Watch 9. I have it allowed to track my sleep, have set a sleep schedule and wear it fully charged and snuggly around my wrist and it still isn’t tracking my sleep. I keep it up to date and I have tried restarting, unpairing and repairing and all other troubleshooting suggestions to no avail. I find this all very frustrating as I did not have this issue with my Fitbit and thought I was getting a high quality product. Help please and thank you 😊

My watch also records naps when I'm sitting and reading the newspaper in the morning, does rarely show any Deep Sleep phases, although my 3rd party sleep app does that.

Plus, the times of being awake are far off, sometimes it states one hour, although I just checked the time on my watch and continued to sleep right after that.

Recording Sleep has been working better in watchOS 18. Maybe we should use the Feedback link to tell them directly about it.

Similar I think to my issue which is:-

Since updating my iPhone 15 and watch series 10 to iOS 26 on 15/10/2025. Health Sleep App stops recording sleep if I get up for bathroom break and go back to bed. It has done this at least 3 times since.

I first started using the sleep function on 25/10/2022 when it was first released when I had iPhone XS and watch series 4, in that time sleep never never never ever ever ever stopped recording after a bathroom visit if i needed to get up in the night’s sleep, but now three times at least since ios 26.

Something has changed.
