How do I turn off what seems like AI taking part in my random Apple Music Playlists?

Hi there,

I have been using Apple Music (iTunes) to organize and play my personal collection of ALAC music files ripped from CD's for almost 20 years. I mainly play music using my iPhone 16.

I have several smart playlists that I listen to all of the time. They contain thousands of songs.

What I have noticed over the past year or so is that these lists are seemingly "less random".

I am finding that in a playlist of say 2000 songs one day I will listen to maybe 30 of those in random order, and then the next day when I listen some of those exact songs re-appear in the playlist. Now at first I thought it was a fluke but it continues for days and weeks, etc, afterwards.

I am assuming it has something to do with AI interfering with my random playlists lol.

I've tried turning the AI off on my Apple Music app, going onto my Mac and deleting number of plays for all songs .... I've also tried clearing the play history on my iPhone several times but the same thing keeps happening.

Am I crazy or can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks for reading,

Cheers,

Kato
