Getting access to my contacts in the new Phone app in MAC OS 26
I've tried everything, and I can't seem to get a sidebar or tabs in the app to get direct access to contacts.

The current design of the macOS Phone app allows you to add Favorites above the list of Recent calls, but you cannot directly access your Contacts (for that, you need to use the Contacts app on macOS). I agree that the macOS Phone app should offer Contacts (or at least a link to open the contacts app at a minimum), only Apple can implement that change.

Just use the search field. It will pull up matching contacts. But, as noted, there is no list of contacts.
Do you need access to all your contacts at once? Then, as already noted, you currently need to open the Contacts application.
Do you need to access specific contacts? Just type into the search box.
Thanks for the input. I conducted some research and learned that the Phone App is not a fully functional app. It's a SwiftUI app that relies on the iPhone's cellular capabilities to work. SwiftUI Apps don't have sidebars or menu access for things like direct access to Contacts. I'm getting what I need but it's abit clunky.

Is this iPhone Mirroring?

Can you launch the Contacts.app directly on the Mac...(?) from Spotlight (Command Spacebar)
Are you syncing Contacts across devices using iCloud? >AppleID/Account>iCloud

Sign out of your Apple ID/Account /iCloud on the Mac and back in again and compare your results

Here's a thought: with the new ability to add quick shortcuts to Spotlight, you can create a shortcut that opens both Phone and Contacts at once.
It's newly-deployed and probably something that will be updated by Apple over time.
