Trackpad gestures intermittently not working in macOS Tahoe

Since upgrading to macOS Tahoe, my trackpad sometimes doesn’t respond correctly:

  • Double-tap to select a word doesn’t always register.
  • Two-finger tap for right-click occasionally doesn’t work.
  • Other gestures can sometimes fail too, but only intermittently.
  • Is anyone else experiencing this? Could it be a software bug, or is there a setting I should adjust?

To be proactive you can file a bug report / submit your Apple Feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

you can try easy enought to reinstall the macOS in an effort to resolve the issue:

To trouble shoot further you can:

I am also facing this issue in Macbook Pro, M1 Chip, 2020, mouse trackpad after recent OS upgrade.

1.After restarting it works fine but have issue after some time.

2.Trackpad works perfectly in safe mode

during trackpad issue , click button feedback response also feels not responding(that click sound), feels like jammed but works after restart and safe mode.

So for me this trackpad issue occur randomly after restart. cursor glitches and jumps. randomly auto click after glitches.

I’ll definitely look into this solution to see if it helps. Unfortunately, I didn’t make a backup of my previous OS before upgrading. I’m wondering — if I go to an Apple Store, could they help me or provide some kind of workaround?

Ideally, if I had the choice, I’d like to roll back to Sequoia. But is there any way to do that without losing my data or apps, considering I don’t have an iCloud or Time Machine backup?

Also, I tried to replicate same issue with my Apple Magic Mouse, it showed the same signs with its gestures as well as scrolling issue.
