Touch ID Intermittant After Update to 15.7

After I updated to Sequoia 15.7 I noticed that Touch ID to log in would intermittantly not work. It worked fine in all other applications but not to unlock the screen.

I rebooted, removed and readded my fingerprints, booted to Restore Mode, and then restored the OS. Nothing worked.

Today I went to System Settings > Battery > Options and changed "Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when display is off" to Enabled. That seems to have done the trick. It appears that the T2 chip is not waking up properly.

This isn't a permanent fix since it will only work while on the power adapter but I wanted to let the community and Apple know where the problem appears to lie.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.7
