Can I trade in my Apple Watch Series 6 with screen protector on?

Have purchased a new Series 11 apple watch and am trading in my series 6 apple watch. It has a screen protector on it and I seem unable to remove it. I do not know who the manufacturer was as it was about 7 years ago. Do I need to remove the screen protector before I trade in the old watch?
