iphone mirroring always shows connection interrupted on ios 26 & tahoe 26

I cant use the iPhone Mirroring feature between my iPhone 15 and Macbook Air 2022. The feature used to work without problems when i first got my laptop (around 1 month-ish), but it suddenly stopped working and has remained broken even after updating both devices to the latest software versions. The issue originally began while i was still on iOS 18, i thought an update would help.

My setup:

  • iPhone 15 (iOS 26)
  • MacBook Air M2, 2022 (macOS Tahoe 26)
  • Both devices signed in with the same Apple ID (2FA enabled)
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on + connected to the same network
  • No VPN or third-party security software used

The issue:

  • iPhone Mirroring connects successfully at first.
  • After 4-5 seconds, the session disconnects and shows “Connection Interrupted.”
  • This happens consistently, every time I attempt to mirror.

My attempts:

  • Updated both iPhone and Mac to the latest available versions.
  • Restarted both devices multiple times.
  • Ensured Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled and both devices are on the same network.
  • Switched to different Wi-Fi networks.
  • Have the devices’ network settings on “rotating”
  • Revoked and re-granted iPhone Mirroring access on both devices.
  • No VPN/firewall/privacy features

Please help me, im so deeply frustrated..
