my newly bought iphone is overheating i just bought it today and did all the software updates

After you setup and update your iPhone, it has to work extra hard temporarily for the first few days to complete certain tasks. These include indexing all your data and files for search, installing and updating new apps and features such as Apple Intelligence and more. The best thing to do is leave your iPhone on Wi-Fi and charging as much as possible which will help complete these. Give it a few more days and it should return to normal.

Also, let's define overheating. If you don't see a thermometer on your new phone with a message saying the phone can't be used again until it cools off, it is NOT overheating.
