MacBook asking for password instead of Touch ID

My MacBook Pro, running Sequoia 15.7, asks me for my password every time I awaken it from Sleep Mode. I have TouchID enabled. This is fairly recent and may have occurred with the latest update. Is anyone else having this problem? Any advice?
