Suspected fraudulent damage during iPhone 14 Plus trade-in process

I recently sent in my iphone 14 plus fort trade in. The phone was in great condition, not cracks in the front or back. Once apple received my phone they say the back glass is cracked. The back glass was in great condition when it left my hands and went into the shipping box they sent for me to ship it back. The phone was also still in an otterbox case when shipped back, so it is doubtful the damage occurred in shipping. I denied the $60 they said they would pay me and I got my phone back today. The damage to this phone definitely happens outside of a case because it looks like a hammer hit it and even the raised glass around the camera is chipped off in multiple places. This in my opinion seems like fraudulent practices have occurred. Has anyone else had this experience?

Yes, I read every word you wrote. And yet, there's nothing anyone on this user to user only forum can do to help you. It really won't help you even if someone else had a similar experience. Your phone was damaged. Proving where or when it was damaged is impossible. Also, asking if anyone else has had a similar experience is Poll Taking, which is actually a violation of the Terms of Use for this forum.

I'm sorry you had this experience, but this is a technical support forum. And you unfortunately don't need technical support.

If you want to raise your concern with Apple, this isn't the place to do so. If your'e in the US, you can call Apple at: 800-MY-APPLE. You can also tap the Support button at the bottom of this page.

I'm not sure what you're hoping to get here? This is a user to user only forum, not Apple Support. There's really nothing we can do to help you with this. You're sort of caught in a he said, she said situation. There's no way for anyone to know if the phone was damaged before you sent it in or not. This is why it's usually a good idea to never send a phone in a case and to always take photos of the phones condition, date stamped before you shipped it.

Damaged Phone Upon Arrival:

Apple sends you a prepared shipping box. I've performed shipping, and did so extensively during the COVID era (because Apple Stores were closed for most of the day, and overloaded with customers). So, it may have been from mishandling. --who knows?. No one here on there forums has any say in returns, nor refunds. Damaged upon delivery is something you would have agreed to upon shipping this. Maybe next time, take it to your local Apple Store. And be certain to perform as instructed here: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
