Can I go back to old application launcher with organized folders?

I'm very frustrated right now. I had about 50 applications on my MacBook Pro, all organized into neat, **Useful** labelled folders. I just updated to Tahoe, and now when I click on the launcher from the dock, I get a disorganized cluster of 5000 apps from my iPhone and every other Apple device I own. I've looked and I don't see any way to organize the apps and hide apps on other devices. I can't believe Apple thought this would be better. Does anyone know of a way I can customize so it's like it used to be? Or at least some semblance of that?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.1

LaunchPad ― has been replaced by the new Apps.app going forward.

you can take a look at https://www.launchie.app

alternative: “AppGrid Launcher”

see it in the >App Store -a viable replacement for the old LaunchPad.app

you can turn off iPhone mirroring

Manage iPhone Mirroring on your iPhone or Mac

On your iPhone

Settings>General>Airplay & Continuity> Phone Mirroring remove your Mac from that list

I can understand the emotion about change, but just a very short experience using the Apps.app has convinced me that the change is worthwhile.

When Apps opens, start typing an objects name that you need and hey presto, it is displayed as the first of a few that might fit, a "return" will start that first object, or a single click will suffice.

Then, if you add in "Spotlight Search" this change really starts to come alive. I also collected apps kept in a folder that made sense - but the question is why? Search >command >Space bar> Spotlight Search (or hover over App icon - and < the Spotlight Search will appear) the then a hovering mouse will show where you want to spotlight focused; Apps, Folders, Shortcuts, Files - or - just type that name and it will find it everywhere!

Then, if you click on the "more . . ." icon you'll get a dropdown to change the view from grid to list and remove all the apps from your iPhone (why?) even my mobile banking app runs from the desktop - pure magic!

Thanks again Apple!

Thanks for your reply.

The biggest issue is that I can't filter out apps. (My MacBook Pro app menu, when I click "more" doesn't give the option of only showing apps on this device). Like, I don't need every app I've ever purchased on every apple device I've ever owned. All I want, is the apps I actually have on this computer. That's all.

As far as searching -- The old launchpad did that. There was a search bar at the top. Not to mention, this one isn't that great. I had like 20 photo apps on this device. When I do a search for photo, only 3 show up. Plus 30 apps from my iPhone and iPad that are useless.
