iPhone SE showing scam message while using Merriam-Webster dictionary app

While using Marriam Webster dictionary app, my iPhone SE displayed a screen saying my phone was under attack by several malware actions: Trojan Horse; a threat to delete pictures and files; a threat to take over my phone. In the upper left corner of screen was iPhone “settings” symbol.

My question is: if my iPhone was under an attack, would a warning be displayed indicating it was from the “settings” app in my iPhone?

Or, was this displayed screen a facade of the malware attack?

Your phone is fine. You saw a scam message that was trying to trick you into buying useless software that would do nothing to help your phone.

Ignore and delete the message and keep working.
