Popped up immediately again, or just once per day?

I have the opposite problem with my Mac on Sequoia. If I open Settings to do anything at all, it asks me to sign into my Apple Account. I don't actually have to for things that only affect my computer such as altering a keyboard setting. If I do actually sign into my account it will stay signed in for a few hours but then next time I open Settings the message is back. Fortunately if I ignore it then generally nothing bad happens. Still, it's a bit of a pest seeing the red circle next to Settings.

So I guess what I am advising is if you find things still work when you say "not now" then don't bother until you absolutely have to.
