Unremovable old home address as waypoint on Apple Watch

My old home address is an un-deletable waypoint on the Apple Watch. I've tried fixing this every way I could possibly think of. I've:

  • updated the OS to the latest version on the Watch and iPhone. rebooted the Watch, rebooted the Phone
  • updated my contact card 'home' address. also deleted the home address, re-added the home address. etc.
  • updated the 'Home' pin on Apple maps. deleted it, recreated it, etc.
  • updated the billing address on every single card in the Wallet app
  • updated the Billing and Shipping address on my Apple Account
  • reset the 'Location and Privacy' settings on my iPhone
  • used the iPhone's Watch app to 'Reset Sync Data' on the Watch
  • rebooted the iPhone
  • rebooted the Watch
  • unpaired/re-paired the Watch to the iPhone
  • ETC ETC ETC

i'm about to return the Apple Watch out of spite. the ONE single pinned location I have in all of Apple Maps is my current address, and all the watch will ever show is my old address. I've seen similar topics here with no adequate solution. This is insane.

Turning off iCloud backup for the Maps app seemed to do the trick.

I haven’t turned it back on to see if the solution sticks but so far it works and I’m still seeing my parked car pin show up on my watch.

will want to test if I make a new waypoint on the watch will those stay on my watch. Probably won’t sync with anything created on my phone since iCloud is disabled for Maps now.

Despite the latest watchOS 26.0.2 update, it still seems to be a software issue.

I'm afraid, using the feedback link is the only way to make Apple Techs directly aware of the problem:

You already did the general troubleshooting at this point, and if it was me, I would only return the watch, if I would rely heavily on using waypoints at this time.

I’m having the same issue and it’s driving me crazy. When I power off/on my watch it goes away but then when I leave my current home address it shows back up. Haven’t used the address in over 6 years and it still shows up. I feel your frustration. We should be able to click on it and remove it from the watch directly if it’s shows up on the watch.

Yes, I updated the phone and watch OSs last night. No change.

Also cleared the “Significant Locations” cache. No change.

Also deleted my Contact card entirely (not just the home address) and remade it from scratch. No change.

I’m thinking of going to an Apple Store for help but I can almost guarantee they won’t suggest anything I haven’t already done. Except for maybe “Did you try restoring the phone to factory settings? What about creating a brand new Apple Account?” which are two steps I am obviously NOT going to do.

I feel like it’s a lost cause at this point and just want to return the Ultra 3 for a refund.

As long as you are within the two week return period, you can return the watch, no questions asked.

Outside of that time frame, it's up to Apple whether you can return the watch.
