Refund request for unintended Snapchat Plus subscription payment

I accidentally paid yearly for a Snapchat plus subscription it had charged me 33.99 but I didn’t mean to press it can I possibly get a refund.

Are you sure the subscription is managed by Apple? You will not get a subscription managed by Apple by accidentally tapping a button on the screen. It would require you to double click the side button with that amount showing on the screen, so that is something you would be aware of.


SnapChat does offer the subscription themselves where it is not managed by Apple and you would have no option to request that refund from Apple. For any subscription that bypasses Apple, you would need to deal directly with the merchant, and in this case it would be SnapChat.


I only suspect that to be the case because you said you were charged and "didn't mean to press it". That does not sound like the double click of the side button required for a subscription managed by Apple.

I understand. Note, that many free trials are only available on certain subscriptions and if you choose the free trial, you may not have a choice on what subscription length you agree too. SnapChat has that offer on their website where it bypasses Apple and they manage the subscription themselves. You are free to get any subscription with a company that does not involve Apple, but when it comes to requesting a refund or cancelling, you would then be dealing with SnapChat and not Apple.


When viewing the in-app purchases managed by Apple for SnapChat, that yearly subscription is not offered, so that would indicate you did accept that offer with SnapChat where any resolution would not involve Apple at all.
