How to resolve iPhone 16 Pro factory reset issues?

I am moving into a an iPhone 16 Pro and transferring from Android but the process got stuck part way through. I now want to reset to factory settings which also fails. I have tried via settings/reset and by using vol up/vol down/press and hold the power key until apple logo; both methods look like they are working but at the end of the process, it’s not reset (apps etc are still there and the phone starts as normal but without security of pin code or face ID). Any suggestions please?

This process should work, if not it will tell you during the process


Erase iPhone - Apple Support


in the rare cases it does not you may have to use recovery mode process, but you need to computer and it would be unusual to need it
