iOS 26 – Screen Time passcode keypad missing digits (5,6,8,9,0) in Dark Mode IPhone 14 Pro Max iOS 26.0.1

Hello,

After updating my iPhone 14 ProMax to iOS 26.0.1, I noticed a UI issue when entering the Screen Time passcode.

When the phone is set to Dark Mode, some of the numbers on the keypad do not appear.

Specifically, the digits 5, 6, 8, 9, 0 are invisible, while the buttons remain white.

Details:

  • Path: Settings → Screen Time → Use Screen Time Passcode.

  • Light Mode displays all numbers correctly.

  • Device restarted multiple times, no profiles or VPN installed.

  • Problem persists after updating to iOS 26.0.1.

Expected behavior:

All digits on the Screen Time passcode keypad should be clearly visible in both Light and Dark Modes.

Actual behavior:

In Dark Mode, only digits 1–4 and 7 remain visible, while 5, 6, 8, 9, 0 are blank.

Please investigate and include a fix in a future iOS update.

Thank you.

I just checked whether the Increase Contrast feature was enabled, and it wasn’t. I turned it on to see if it would have any effect, but the issue behaved the same way.

However—to my surprise—the problem was resolved after I changed the phone’s menu language from what it was previously set to, into English.

The reason I switched was simply to take a picture of the numeric keyboard with another phone (since a screenshot hides the numeric buttons) and have it in English for the forum.

Thank you very much for your help!

Do you happen to have the Accessibility feature Increase Contrast turned on at Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text > Increase Contrast?

Just trying to figure out if it is specific to that setting or a combination of other Display settings turned on that are causing the problem you see. By default without any Accessibility modifications, all numbers are visible in both Light and Dark Mode for me.
