Apple Music pauses play when switching apps on iOS 26.0.1

I noticed this on my iPad Pro (that I got in 2016/2017, can’t remember exactly) tonight. Very weird. Not so much on my iPhone 7 which I just switched to using alongside my iPad for tonight. Any ideas yet?

I’ve never had any serious issue with Apple Music until now. All my playlists are downloaded so it’s not a connectivity issue. I’ll be hiking with my AirPod 4 pro and iPhone 17 on iOS 26 and the music just stops and restarting or quitting does nothing. It’ll play for a few seconds and then stop. I usually am hiking or biking with Strava but quitting Strava did nothing to help. How is this a support community when hundreds of users have this problem and nobody at Apple bothers to respond or help? I’m a loyal never windows Apple user from way back in the day and it pains me to feel screwed paying for a subscription that doesn’t work. Apple, is your core becoming rotten?

Absolute joke - how incompetent do you have to be to create an app that behaves this way. I thought I'd left Spotify to move to Apple Music but nope - just cancelled my Apple Music and I'll never be back.

Same for me, every time I exit Facebook app it pauses since the 26.0.1 update. Drives me crazy.

Yes it happened a lot while doing different activities it happened using facebook and gallery sometimes also while lock the screen and while scroll the control center and it is very annoying!!

Yes. I have the new IPhone 17 pro and I am having the same issues. Drives me crazy!

Yes for me with FB and also my local bus app

This is happening for me too since the iOS update. Most noticeably with Facebook but also other apps - SO annoying!

YouTube videos has never worked consistently when you open up another app on my phones weirdly enough I just didn’t think you could play YouTube videos and open up a new app
