Some iOS 26 features simply don't work on iPhone 17 Pro

Got a brand new iPhone 17 Pro, and some more advertised features don't seem to work for me. I wonder if anyone else is having similar issues?


  • Match icons tint to iPhone colour: the button of a matching of a phone colour is grayed out for me and thus doesn't work. Oddly enough, the button to match case colour has a white circle and is clickable: though I don't have any case on my phone...



  • Voice isolation in Voice app or Camera app: when recording audio using build in microphones, opening Control Centre and tapping Controls on top, I can only select between Auto and Standard: Voice isolation is grayed out. This is definitely working on my old iPhone 13 Pro oddly enough.



  • Using AirPods Pro as a microphone during video recording: again, not working. I have no option of changing the audio input in Controls under Control Center. Even if I change the Microphone setting in Settings > Sounds & Sounds & Haptics to AirPods Pro, this setting appears ignored by Camera app...

Just to update everyone:

  • so the first issue was "resolved" in iOS 26.1: basically if your phone is white/silver, the option shouldn't work. In new iOS 26.1 it's actually gone completely.
  • Voice isolation: if your Voice Memos (Settings > Apps > Voice Memos> Recording mode) or Camera app (Settings > Camera > Record Sound) are set to record Spacial Audio, then Voice isolation is disabled. Unfortunately no Apple Support person was able to help me with this, had to come to this realisation myself.
  • AirPods Pro as microphone: this currently doesn't work in all countries, including the EU.

Guess what, if nobody tells them then they can't fix it.

I can't because when I volunteered 3 months testing ios26, iphone 17 didn't exist.

Do your duty, report it https://apple.com/feedback


In the mean time

Uninstall any security or VPN apps

Turn off Screen Time completely
