How do I remove apps from dock on my MacBook Air running macOS Tahoe 26?

All of a sudden there are 3 apps on my desktop: calendar, photos and weather. Make them go away. If I want to open one of these apps they are already in the dock.

Make sure the Apps are not running, and drag each app up and off the dock until the word "Remove" appears next to them. Then release the mouse button or trackpad to remove it.

Alternatively, youn can right click, control+click or twin finger click on an icon on the Dock, select options from the menu that appears and then either uncheck the "Keep on dock" option or click on "Remove from dock" to remove the icon from the dock.
