Charge Limit is not working on my iPhone 15 with iOS 26.0.1

What happens if you try a Forced Restart of your iPhone and then set up a Charge Limit of say 80% as a test?

That is normal and expected behavior of the Charge Limit. When enabled it will still occasionally charge to 100% in order to calibrate the battery and display accurate health.

Please read all the comments/posts in the thread. It’s normal for the battery to occasionally charge to 100%. The battery chemically ages in a non-linear manner and the algorithm need to recalibrate by charging to 100%.

I'm experiencing the same issue, despite the settings charging limit to 80% or 90%, the charging always goes up to 100%.

Before iOS 26, the settings worked like a charm (always stopped charging at the pourcentage configured and occasionally went up 100% maybe once per month).

Remember it will do absolutely no harm to the battery, this is just an option for option’s sake. Not even available on my phone.

Also it needs to charge to 100% occasionally in order to learn what 90% looks like.

I'm seeing the same bug with IOS 26.1 on my iPhone 16e. This setting worked as expected prior to upgrading to IOS 26 (stopping most of the time at 80%, charging to 100% roughly once per month). Now it continued to charge to 100% regardless of the setting.

I suppose so I’m face with same issue like you my iPhone 15 charging limit doesn’t work I set to stop charging at 85% but it continues charging until unplugged

Now, did you find a solution or not tell me please!!

You're welcome. And it will not harm the battery as it only does so occasionally.

That’s not uncommon and you should let the battery algorithm work as intended.

And I was just about to share what you’ve said before Jeff! “Occasionally” has no set definition and can be more or less for users, depending on the battery, usage, conditions and more.
