Copying phone numbers from Contacts in Mac OS Tahoe

I regularly copy and paste phone numbers from Contacts. Since I installed Mac OS 26 Tahoe, eight out of ten times that I try to copy a number, I accidentally dial the number. Is there a way to disable this feature and only dial the number by clicking on the phone icon above on the contact card? Also, when I'm able to copy the number, it pastes in white font, making it invisible. Now there's the added step to "Paste and Match Style" to make it right. Is there a way to change that?

The white text is a 'feature' of Tahoe and cannot be changed. The workaround you are using (paste and match style) is the best option, IMO.

For an alternate way to select the number without dialing it, you can secondary click on it (control-click, two finger click/tap) and select Copy.

Don't feel alone.

Control click on the phone icon—nada...

Control click on the number itself—there is a Copy

Otherwise for copying more of the information with Control click... You have to be in the EDIT mode

These are the issues that I referred to above.

The alternative to match style is to paste into a plain.txt file first to strip out the formatting.

Need your user feedback here to help prioritize the dis-function of the new Contacts.app interface:
