Screensharing to local MacMini only in Assistmode?! (macOS Tahoe)

Hi Guys,

Im currently having some headaches with macOS Tahoe.

I have a MacMini M1 which is my Plex server. I recently upgraded the software on this MacMini to 26.0 a.k.a. macOS Tahoe. On my other MacMini (M4) I connect to the M1 Mac mini via screen sharing. Ever since Tahoe im only able to do this in assistmode? External Management is turned on and im logging in with the correct user. File Fault is turned off (else you not able to sign in via screensharing anyway)

Does somebody know how to fix this?

Help would greatly be appreciated

< Plex server for Mac—software that turns your Mac into a central hub to organize, manage, and stream your personal media collection, such as movies, TV shows, music, and photos, to various devices.>

Well I am not sure what to say here, this is the second report I have read concerning PLEX—if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

For macOS 26 Tahoe, Plex users have reported issues including memory leaks, video stuttering, and trouble accessing content.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

uhm, my problem is not with plex— only works in assisted mode.

Before the Mac OS update that wasn’t a problem.

Understood sounds like third party needs to become compatible with the new macOS....

Apple does not have a feature called "Sharing Assist Mode"

if your Plex server is not working as expected, Plex would want to know the issue or have a resolve(?)

If you pay for the service, then you can reach out to their support for a resolve.

Assisted Mode

Message to administrator...

Open sharing settings...

for these issue look for some update for your "remote" compatibility—search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…
