How to control 'Now Playing' complication on Apple Watch Series 9 with watchOS 26.0.2?

Hello! Normal stuff out of the way first:

* Apple Watch Series 9 (GPS)

* watchOS version 26.0.2 (23R262)

* 45mm Case - Aluminum

* iOS version 26.0.1

I used to use my watch on a daily basis with the Now Playing complication in the middle of my modular face but when they changed that to the Smart Stack my middle just became the text "Suggested media will appear here." I was unhappy with the change but I got used to it, using it as a shortcut to get to the "Now Playing" app proper to then control what I was watching or listening to. Now just this week that field just populated with some podcasts on its own and if you click on one it will suddenly play it on my phone without telling me which episode it is, or even how it chose these episodes. For example this is what it looks like now:

Again I have no idea how these shows are *chosen*. I went to the Podcasts app on my watch and made sure everything was marked as played and nothing was next in line. I went to my phone and actually deleted EVERY saved or downloaded episode (not the worst idea anyway) but again, nothing seems to be changing. The first two shows updated on a biweekly basis, which updated last week and I have already listened to, and the third one was a single season that hasn't updated in seven years. If I play an audiobook through Audible or play something in Apple Music this complication also never changes to reflect anything current. The reason I don't like it is because if I accidentally tap one of these shows it will immediately start playing on my phone and supersede anything else I am doing at the moment. I'd like to be able to determine how these are chosen (and ideally set it to nothing!) I tried searching this on the apple support forums but couldn't find anything, so I went here first and will post there if no one has any additional ideas.
