Safari can't run youtube or open jpeg attachments

Safari can't run youtube or open jpeg attachments

The latest safari can't run youtube. Just get black box. Also websites with jpeg attachments don't open. Just blank page. Turned extensions off. Reinstalled flash. Ran permissions repair. Could this be something with java? Use to work.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Have reinstalled Safari.
It works fine on Firefox and chrome.
Extensions off. Plugins: 3 Coupon printers, 2 DivX, Garmin communicator, iphoto photocast, Java plugin 2, Lala download, Quartz composer, Quicktime, 2 Shockwave flash, Switchable java, 2 walcom.

Try installing Perian from http://perian.org/

You should read this support page http://perian.org/#support in case you need to delete older codecs. In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them). However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/

I got the attachments viewable by deleting the awesome Screenshot extension.
I do have DivX installed. There are 2 plugins for it. I also have the latest version of Perian. Can't see where their support page shows which codecs are old.

Only problem now is youtube still doesn't work.

YouTube is either Flash driven, or sometimes HTML5.
