Disabling MMS/SMS messages on macbook

I am unable to disable text messages on my mac, I have referred to other articles and the setting (text message forwarding) is no longer toggle-able.


Can someone help?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.6

Seems we generally turn off features in the same way that we set them up:

Wondering whether or not you use iCloud, and which particular articles you have already referred to: ie: If not the linked articles below,:Apple support's online "how to" articles may help change settings from "on" to "off".


Seems the iPhone setting: Settings > Messages > Text Message forwarding

may be where to turn Message Forwarding off for each other device / computer.
