That’s Liquid Glass for ya. It is extremely battery draining especially because it’s specifically for iPhone 17 users so any older model just makes the phone laggy and horrible. This is why I’ve said over 1000 times for apple to make a setting to turn off Liquid Glass

That is incorrect. Liquid Glass has nothing to do with an increase in battery drain. It's rather due to the update processes that have to run after, such as updating your apps and re-indexing all your data for search. And it's not specifically for the latest iPhones. While the new iPhones also have to run the setup processes, all updating iPhones cause this. It seems as people that don't like Liquid Glass are using it as an excuse for the battery drain. If they did ever add a switch, it wouldn't address the battery drain.

Indexing can take more than four days. First off, you're on Low Power Mode which pauses background activities, such as downloads and syncing. Secondly you're on cellular, indexing is best performed when on a strong Wi-Fi connection. If you plug your iPhone in and connect to Wi-Fi, these post-update processes should be faster.

Lock Screen usage is many times a Widget on your lock screen or Home Screen that is stuck and constantly updating or trying to update. It may be using excessive WiFi or cellular data. You’ll need to try deleting some Widgets and/or uninstalling and reinstalling them.

Instagram is still doing a lot of background activity which is not normal. If it continues, post a new screenshot.

Normal is relative to the apps you have installed, how much data is involved, speed of WiFi and cellular, amount of free space and dozens of other factors. So yes, it’s normal and no it’s not.

As I requested in another post of yours, please do a forced restart and let’s revisit these graphs in 12 and again at 24 hours.

Do a forced restart please. Post in this thread only. Let’s see some graphs and app lists in 12 hours or so. iPhone should be turned on tonight, connected to WiFi and/or cellular and let’s let it work. Charge device to 100% tonight, so turn off optimized charging and set to 100% charge. We can adjust charging parameters later if you want. But for now 100%.

But why this drastic decrease in battery life from w full day of use to a single full charge lasting me 5 hours with only 2 hours with screen on time by day 4 post update i would think indexing and background processes would calm down a bit but not at all today the drain was more intense

Indexing patterns can be volatile. Give it some more time to do so and try the suggestions I provided above.

I thought maybe it’s still indexing since it’s just 4 days post update but the battery life is so bad that i even thought about replacing the battery

With 94% battery health, replacing the battery is pointless. Apple won’t do it.

Having said that, 94% in a 4 year old phone suggests a replacement battery already, was it Apple who did that?

Low power mode is automatically activated at 30% not from 100 so it’s not pausing indexing or background processes

If you have Adaptive Mode enabled it will auto enable Low Power Mode, but thats done at 20%. You may have a shortcut that does so at a different percentage. But regardless no matter how Low Power Mode is enabled, whether automatically or not, the effects are still the same and background tasks are still paused.

But why this drastic decrease in battery life from w full day of use to a single full charge lasting me 5 hours with only 2 hours with screen on time by day 4 post update i would think indexing and background processes would calm down a bit but not at all today the drain was more intense so my question is - is this behavior normal for an iphone 13 pro 4 days post update ?
