Typing issues with iPhone-only apps on iPad since iPadOS 26

Hello,

Since iPadOS 26, there have been major issues when using iPhone-only apps on the iPad (for example, the Threads app, which is only available for iPhone).

The Apple keyboard (I use a pure QWERTZ layout without umlauts) produces completely incorrect results when pressing certain keys:

- Pressing the lowercase “u” types its secondary character instead—the number 7.

- Pressing the lowercase “a” types a hyphen/dash.

- Pressing the lowercase “s” types a slash.

In each case, the correct character only appears when holding the key down.

The 26.0.1 update has not improved this situation. Smooth typing is effectively impossible.

The full-width keyboard used in iPad-optimized/native/universal apps is not affected. Only the "fallback keyboard", which is used in the (zoomed) iPhone apps.
