macOS Tahoe update does not progress / MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)

Any recommendations what to try to get macOS Tahoe update to proceed? macOS Tahoe update got stuck while displaying: "This update will take several minutes to complete and the screen will turn off for up to a minute." ...well, I have been waiting for at least two hours by now...

If you are truly stuck— force quit a shut down and relaunch the computer as normal and see where it leaves you.

force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 sec.

Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac

leroydouglas, thank you for taking the time to provide your suggestion for actions :-)

The installation was stuck so I force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 sec. Then log in again and shut down. Now at the starting point again with macOS Sequoia 15.6.1.

I'll install the macOS Sequoia 15.7.1 later this week. Not so sure whether to install macOS Tahoe any time soon
