Audio popping, glitches, and dropouts after Tahoe update

I have an OWC Thunderbolt dock that provides USB, video, network, and audio output. It has worked very well, with no audio issues at all, for a year or two.

The audio on my system is now unusable, plagued with dropouts, popping, and glitches. I thought I'd fixed it by powering down and restarting the dock, but nope... it persists. So now I'm out of luck doing audio work on my system.

There have been no other changes in my setup.

Anybody else?
